OnFast Customer Story: Phil Hadley Of Collier Pest Control

Phil Hadley is the owner of Collier Pest Control, Inc.; a full service pest control company that has served the area of Lee and Collier Counties from Fort Myers to Marco Island, since 1990. Phil has been a resident of Naples, FL since 1957.

The following interview took place in February, 2012.

What is your background and what did you do before starting your business?

I worked in pest control for other companies during the 10 years prior to starting my own business. Before that I had owned two other small businesses in the Collier County area, one of which was a record and music store in downtown Naples called Big Sound Discounts. The first 20 years of my adult life, I had been a working musician.

What has driven the growth of your business?

The quality of our service and word-of-mouth referrals by our customers.

How have your marketing efforts changed over the 21 years you have been in business?

I had used phone book and newspaper ads traditionally, then I transitioned into our company website followed by blogging and social media.

What challenges do you face today trying to attract new customers and retaining existing customers?

Getting the right exposure for the company on social media and for our website. Using OnFast has helped me face these challenges. As for retaining customers, we have no problem with that. Our quality of service keeps our customers using our service.

How has using social media and OnFast helped your business?

I have gained more exposure for my company and our website through using social media with OnFast's help. My blog is getting attention from around the world and Twitter response is on the rise.

What Challenges Do You See Going Forward?

Being able to compete on social media with our competitors. It's getting crowded out there, just like phone book ads used to be.
