Providing Exceptional Customer Service
_________________________________________________________________________
Providing "good" customer service is not enough these days. You must provide EXCEPTIONAL customer service and go above and beyond what the customers expect. With that in mind, here are some tips for providing exceptional customer service.
1. LIsten to any of your customer's ideas, needs or concerns that they might have. By doing this you are getting an outsiders point of view about your service or product and letting them know that you care about what they think.
2. Let your customers know that you appreciate their business. Thank them any chance that you can. Send them a Thank You note, a small gift of some kind, a card at the holidays, or give them a simple phone call. Anything that you can do to let them know that you appreciate them and their loyalty.
3. Know what your customers want and anticipate their needs. This will keep you one step ahead of them and always provide them with a service or product that they will want.
4. Take time to explain how your product or service works. People will feel more confident about doing business with you if you seem knowledgable about what you are trying to sell them. If they are already a customer, this will remind them about how much your product or service is helping them.
5. Never lie to a customer or make a promise to them that you can't keep. Always be honest with them about what you can or cannot do.
6. When problems do arise, deal with them immediately. Resolving issues quickly lets customers know that you do care and that they are your number one priority.
7. Exceed your customer's expectations. Go out of your way to provide above and beyond just "good" customer service. Do whatever it takes to make your business memorable and enjoyable.
These are just a few ways to provide exceptional customer service. There are many more. Remember that without customers you do not have a business.
