LinkedIn And What It Can Do For Your Business

Of the major social network sites, the most overlooked is LinkedIn. Many companies that could benefit from taking a more active role on LinkedIn, believe it is only for salespeople. That's a shame because LinkedIn offers businesses many avenues for potential growth, besides just looking up contacts. Here are a few possibilities to explore on LinkedIn for your company:

Word Of Mouth Marketing -

Many businesses have been built on this principle. Before social media this could take a lot of hard work. It still is, but with social networking sites like LinkedIn, all of your connections can talk about your company with their connections. In that way, word about your business can spread amongst a group of individuals whose average household income is significantly higher than the users of other social networking sites, such as Twitter or Facebook. Not only that, but many of the people using LinkedIn are the real achievers and decision makers in their respective industries.

Interact -

There are many ways to interact on LinkedIn, some you many not think of. Show off your knowledge and expertise in your company's field by answering questions in the Questions and Answers section of LinkedIn. Conduct a poll or survey and share the results you gather. This will help you and others gain marketing and industry insights and get your company noticed. Make sure to join as many groups related to your industry as possible, or start a group yourself. Link all your social networks so updates on each one, show up on the other networks. Doing that will maximize your possibilities for interaction.

Present Yourself And Your Company Properly -

Do this by making sure your profile is completed 100% and thoroughly represent all that you and your business are about. A properly completed profile helps you gain the trust of others. Share information about your company and what it does by adding a profile of your business. This is the place where you can do a little self promotion about products and services provided by the company.

These are just a few ideas, there are many more possibilities available by making full use of your LinkedIn account to spread the word about your business.
